Morning Worship
Mon-Fri from 9-9:45 am in Porterfield Hall's Pridemore Theatre, We are particularly excited about our 2011 lineups! SUUSI staff work hard to recruit the best sermons and worship experiences from around the country.
Monday
Rev Andrew Reigel: The Joy of Being
Is the ‘joy of being’ merely a nice idea, or is it a lived reality? During this first morning worship at SUUSI we will travel the Royal Road together to discover treasure that lies within, and, prepare to give it away all week long! ‘Come, Sing a Song’ with us!
Alexander Riegel is minister of the Universalist Unitarian Church of Farmington, in Farmington Hills, Michigan. The focus of Alex’s ministry is interspiritual, emphasizing the call to integrate the virtues of each of the world’s major religious traditions into the lived reality of our lives.
Tuesday
Rev. Erika Hewitt: Ways to Say "Thank You"

First comes joy, then comes gratitude! This worship service for ALL ages will invite you to move, sing, and participate as we explore different ways to be grateful. For what, or to whom, will you say “thank you” today?
Erika Hewitt is the minister of Live Oak UU Congregation in Goleta, California. She’s also the author of Story, Song and Spirit, a collection of story-based intergenerational worship services for UU congregations. She tries to laugh at least three times a day.
Wednesday
Amy Carol Webb: If You’re Happy And You Know It
It’s one thing to be happy and quite another to realize whether you are, but one thing seems pretty sure -- the truest, deepest, everlasting happiness cannot be pursued, owned, earned, consumed or found. So what is it, how do we know when we’re in it, and what in the world to do when we’re not?
Twelve years ago, Amy came to SUUSI with her family as a musician with songs and stories and a long-locked-away dream -- a dream SUUSI re-awakened. This year she returns for the 13th time -- as that minister she once dreamed of becoming, set free in new songs and new stories in the beloved community that opens the windows to who we are and the doors to who we can be in this amazing faith.
Thursday
Rev. Tom Rhodes: The Existential Bicycle
Join Rev. Tom Rhodes, Albert Camus, the Greek king Sisyphus and the prophet Abraham on a wild bike trek along the Blue Ridge Parkway as we discover the joys of existentialism in the Appalachian Mountains.
Tom Rhodes is the Senior Minister of the UU Fellowship of Raleigh.
