Help provide a SUUSIShip Stimulus Package!

With the current economic situation, the SUUSIship program has received many applications. SUUSIships provide financial assistance to those who might otherwise be unable to afford SUUSI registration. We have nearly depleted the SUUSIShip fund balance for SUUSI 2010 on just the initial applicants. Based on history, we anticipate more applications, but without additional assistance we will be unable fund more SUUSIShips for 2010. Donations made before SUUSI are more important than ever, and will help more people attend SUUSI.

Giving during the registration process is the easiest and most effective way to contribute. If you have already registered, or even if you are not attending SUUSI this year. You can still help by printing and completing this form and mailing your contribution. If you have the resources, please consider donating. Your contribution will be tax deductible.

Also, if you know someone who would normally attend SUUSI, but may not because they have fallen on hard times, you can remind them of SUUSIShips. Someone you help may be one of the friends you'll greet this year with a big SUUSI hug!

Ways to donate

SUUSIship awards are funded by the generosity of our SUUSI participants, you and me. There are many ways in which people contribute to the SUUSIship fund which is a separate off budget fund reserved for SUUSIship awards.

1. You can indicate that you wish to make a contribution to SUUSIships during registration.
2. You can give at any time by completing and returning the SUUSIShip donation form.
3. You can begin saving your old books, cassettes (books or music), videos, DVDs, CDs, to bring with you to SUUSI. There will be a table at check-in for you to leave your donations to SUUSIships, and buy others to replace the holes left in your shelves by your donations. The funds raised from the sale of the donated books, CDs, DVDs and so forth will go directly to fund SUUSIships. After check-in is over all of the remaining donations will be moved to the SUUSI Bookstore for everyone to purchase throughout the week.
4. After SUUSI you can check the box on your Key Return envelope that indicates you wish to donate your key return to SUUSIships. This is often the single largest source of funding for SUUSIships.
5. Funds for SUUSIships come from the generousity of our participants, and from congregations who add funding to help someone go to SUUSI to their operating budget. It is a way to help someone strengthen their connection to the congregation and the denomination.
6. A percentage of the sales from the Artisans' Bazaar and the Coffee House during SUUSI also go to support SUUSIships.
