This evening's concert slot has traditionally been used to feature SUUSI musicians who have become habitual attendees and regular members of the SUUSI community. Taking advantage of our new location and a brand new space, tonight we showcase as many of these fabulous performers as we can in our one hour time slot. Come hear your favorites and enjoy the new found joy of finding new music to love.

Tuesday - Danielle Milagria

DanielleMilagria
Danielle comes armed with a strong, steady thumb on an old Gibson, an infectious stomp-box rhythm and harmonica with tunes ranging from heart-felt to socially consious that will move both your heart and hips. On the latest, "Glory Junkies" she's joined by a killer cast of musicians blending the classic rock vibe of the Rolling Stones and Ja nis Joplin with Danielle's signature lyrical ability to explore human nature at its best and worst. Danielle was nominated for a 2015 Boston Music Award for Singe-Songwriter of the Year.

Wednesday - Brother Sun

Optimized Brother Sun.4.9 mb
Internatinal touring artists Greg Greenway, Joe Jencks and Pat Wictor have made their mark as veteran touring sing-songwriters. But Brother Sun is no songwriter's round. The trio's harmonies, as much as their lyrics, tell what they are about: warm as a campfire, stirring as a gospel church, rousing as a call to arms. Fusing folk, Americana, blues, pop, jazz, roacl and acapella singing, Brother Sun is an explosion of musical diversity and harmony in the finest of male singing traditions.

Hours: Sunday 9 pm - midnight
Monday-Thursday 9:30 pm-12:30 am
Friday 10:30 pm-2:00 am (a.k.a. Jamboree)

Cabaret is our nightly live music venue. It is an intergenerational, multi-faceted, mixed bag of evening entertainment, drawn from our SUUSI pool of amateur and professional musicians, poets, actors, dancers and instrumentalists. In short, you! It’s a night guaranteed to please.

Sunday is Open Mic Night where everyone can perform. Be sure to sign-up for this event on Sunday by stopping at the Nightlife table during registration. Poets, actors, singers, dancers, young, old, small, tall...all are welcome.

Who gets to perform at Cabaret during the rest of the week? Why, you do, of course! Many who perform on Sunday night can have anpther opprtunity to do their thing during Cabaret on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday nights. Each evening’s schedule will be listed in the daily NUUS as well as posted outside the auditorium and the dining hall by lunchtime of that day.

Wrapping up the Cabaret week on Friday night is Jamboree, a SUUSI tradition, where two or more people who have never performed together before will do so for the first time on the Cabaret stage. It’s amazing what can get pulled together in less than a week!

So, remember, if you are interested in performing at any of the Cabaret events, be sure to stop by the Nightlife table at registration on Sunday or at Cabaret throughout the week!

Late Night at the Common Grounds Coffeehouse

Sun-Fri midnight 'til the wee hours!

Now this is definitely worth staying up late for if you can't get enough music, either as a performer or as an audience member - singers, songwriters, instrumentalists, jamming, pick a song from our songbook and sing along with the group, listen to poems, readings or whatever you'd like to share. All you need to do is just show up! Remember that the cafe is 24/7 and will help you into over-drive for the wee hours. Woo-hoo!
