Youth Overview
Youth Program Activities run Monday through Friday mornings and afternoons.
Morning check-in begins at 8:45 a.m.
All youth, regardless of age, must be checked in to their age group space in the morning by their parent or SUUSI guardian. This is an important time for you and the age group leader to update information and make sure that your child has everything that she or he will need for the day: swimsuit, sunscreen, t-shirt for tie-dye, tennis shoes for a walking trip, water bottle, etc.
Morning programming runs until 12:00.
Children two and under may stay in the nursery for lunch. All other children (ages 3-8) must be picked up by their parent, older sibling (ages 9-17), SUUSI guardian, or alternate adult.
Afternoon check in begins at 1:45.
A parent or SUUSI guardian should check children in to their age groups.
Children ages 9 and up, who have a signed permission form, may bring themselves to class.
Afternoon programming ends at 4:00.
The same check-out procedures as morning programming apply.
Evenings
Evenings at SUUSI are usually community oriented, and we look forward to seeing youth, parents, and other member of the SUUSI community playing, singing, and talking together at Community Time and other gatherings.

Childcare Cooperative
The childcare cooperative program (co-op for short) provides participating adults with shared nighttime supervision of their children (ages 0-13) throughout the week of SUUSI. This makes it easier for parents to enjoy all that SUUSI Nightlife has to offer.
There will be an adult assigned to monitor each hall in the Co-op from approximately 9:30pm-1:15am (or 2:15am on Friday night). Once your kids are in bed for the night, you can sign yourself out and go out to the various night- life spots (but must remain on campus). The monitor will call or send the runner to find you if your kids need you. In return, each adult in the Co-op serves as monitor (or runner) for one shift of approximately 2-2.5 hours.
ALL adults who stay in the co-op dorm will be assigned a shift (whether you are bringing kids or not). Those wishing to participate in the co-op should choose Childcare co-op housing when registering. Families who do not wish to participate in the shared supervision should choose non co-op family housing when they register.
Adults staying in the co-op who have SUUSI staff responsibilities between 9:30 pm and 1:15 am (or 2:15 am on Friday) should notify the co-op coordinator of potential conflicts as soon as possible. Bringing Your Baby to the Nursery
Be sure that your child's diaper bag contains everything that your child will need throughout the day: wipes, diapers, food, and any favorite toys for naps.
Nursery participants will engage in age appropriate play groups in our unique one to one caregiver situation. Since we hire one staffer for each baby, please let us know if your child will NOT be in the SUUSI nursery.
Children who are too young to go to lunch with their parent or SUUSI guardian may stay in the nursery for lunch.
3-6 year olds
3-4 year olds
We'll have "Tell us about your child" papers so that you can let us know important information about naps, snacks, and potty training. If your child is still potty training, please have a change of clothing and/or diapers with your child daily. Three and four year olds engage in age appropriate play centers in the mornings and afternoons, including arts and crafts and music.
Be sure to check your child's daily schedule to find out when she or he will need a swimsuit and sunscreen for water play or good walking shoes for mini-field trips.
