Southeast Unitarian Universalist Summer Institute
a week long summer camp for UU’s   July 16-22, 2017

streamNature has a new bike trip on the city of Franklin has the Little Tennessee River Greenbelt for those who want a leisurely bicycle trip. We will have all the same mountain bike trips as before.

Flying in to SUUSI? did you know that WCU Recreation has a limited number of bicycles for rental if you want to do the mountain bike trails on campus, all bike trips come with rented bikes.

Do you like to rappel but not necessarily like to climb? We are offering a trip to Pickens Nose (I don’t make these names up) with a wonderful view and some really nice rappelling. We will return to The Mountain for rock climbing, North Carolina rock climbing is very different from Virginia and West Virginia climbing. We will be doing more frictional climbing on nearly vertical walls rather than large handholds and cracks.

Caving has returned to SUUSI, we will travel to Tennessee to do Worley’s Cave in Bluff City, the drive is long but the cave is big.

In aquatics, we have standup paddleboard for the first time along with tubing, canoeing, and kayaking. Want to get your feet wet and mingle with the fishes, we have a new ecology based trip “Finding Dory and Her Friends” which is family friendly and if you want a slower moving creature to find try “Salamander Madness”.

We will have our campfire and vans to take you across campus to the shelter. We have hikes some from last year and new ones for you to try.
