Southeast Unitarian Universalist Summer Institute
a week long summer camp for UU’s   July 16-22, 2017

teens3There are many thrilling things in store for the SUUSI teens this year! We are excited to announce that the teens will be fearlessly led by co-directors Molly Ahearn and Amanda Howard, both of whom are teen staff veterans. They are bursting with ideas about how to make the teen program even more wonderful than it already is and create a positive, safe space for all teens to grow and develop lifelong friendships and lasting memories.

Our UU principles will be ingrained into every teen activity this year, emphasized by the new addition of a dedicated minister in the teen program. The teens will be working with worship leaders in our SUUSI community to put on the Wednesday night SUUSI-wide worship. Teens will be setting an example this year in the SUUSI service project by taking walking trips to volunteer at the Cullowhee Community Gardens. There will be old favorites like thrifting, teen tubing, drag night, coffeehouse, and Wink along with new teen activities like inner tube water polo and teen battleship at the beautiful WCU aquatics facility. It’s already gearing up to be an incredible week!
We are actively seeking experienced youth advisors to help with our Teen Program. If you belong to a church with incredible youth advisors, please encourage them to come to SUUSI and apply to be on teen staff. Please contact Michael Tino, Molly Ahearn, or Amanda Howard if you have any questions about being a part of teen staff.
