Concert Hour
Concert Hour, Monday-Thursday, 8:15-9:15pm, Porterfield Theater

Monday - Amy Carol Webb
Sometimes the words of a listener go farther and deeper than anything else to express the power of Amy Carol Webb's words and music. After a recent Sermon in Song, one congregant said, as Amy stood at the door greeting folks, "You know, you don't just move us -- you move us forward!"
Amy is a longtime SUUSI-ite, beloved performer and UU minister.

Tuesday - Friction Farm
Aidan Quinn and Christine Stay combine country, folk an pop into a seamless package of meaningful songs and dynamic performances.
"Their appreciable force is gently delivered with keen lyrics and beautiful melodies, with a hint of humor to mitigate the seriousness of some of their material." David Engels, Emerald Concerts
Wednesday - Wild, Wise Women
Three veteran SUUSI favorites grace the stage this evening for an evening of fabulous entertainment. They all started coming to SUUSI as concert hour performers and have gotten so much from the community that they return every year to sing, teach, volunteer and commune with like-minded spirits.

Tret Fure’s background is as diverse as her many musical talents. She is a singer, songwriter, composer, recording engineer and producer. Her songs take you on her own personal journeys, but leave you feeling as though you had experienced them yourselves.

Wishing Chair, Miriam Davidson and Kiya Heartwood, have performed together in this ‘folk and roll’ duo since 1995. Teaming up to highlight Kiya’s songwriting skills and Miriam’s incredible musical depth has brought the group accolades, fans all over country and many CDs under their belts.

Singer and songwriter, Mindy Simmons was awarded this year with the Duisberg Annual Peace Award from the SW Florida Coalition for Peace and Justice. She is the choirdirector of Unity Church of Sarasota, tours solo as a singer-songwriter, and performs regularly with two bands, The Hot Pockets and the Peggy Lee Quartet.
Thursday - School of Rock

Rapidly becoming a SUUSI tradition, this is a highly entertaining evening brought to us by the young people from the School of Rock workshop. An energenic and electrifying performance as a postlude to tonight's bridging service.

Who gets to perform at Cabaret during the rest of the week? Why, you do, of course! Many who perform on Sunday night can have anpther opprtunity to do their thing during Cabaret on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday nights. Each evening’s schedule will be listed in the daily NUUS as well as posted outside the auditorium and the dining hall by lunchtime of that day.
Wrapping up the Cabaret week on Friday night is Jamboree, a SUUSI tradition, where two or more people who have never performed together before will do so for the first time on the Cabaret stage. It’s amazing what can get pulled together in less than a week!
So, remember, if you are interested in performing at any of the Cabaret events, be sure to stop by the Nightlife table at registration on Sunday or at Cabaret throughout the week!
