2009: Rekindle the Flame Within

Young Adult Staff Expectations

  1. COMMUNITY BUILDING:  As staff members, your goal is to foster a strong community between all participants in the Young Adult program as well as to help build relationships between this program and the rest of the SUUSI community at large.

  • COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION:  Actively participate in YA activities and activities for the entire SUUSI community as well. All staff are encouraged to attend workshops, worships, theme talks, nature trips, and nightlife activities outside of the YA programming.
  • STAFF PARTICIPATION:  You are expected to plan workshops, discussions and late night activities to be presented to the young adult community. You will participate in online planning as well as one pre-SUUSI planning meeting in April, and daily noon meetings during the week of SUUSI itself.
  • RULES:  All SUUSI staff members are expected to obey the rules and By-Laws of SUUUSI, obey the laws of the state where SUUSI is being held, and to help enforce those rules among the SUUSI community.
  • ACCOUNTABILITY:  It is important that staff members be able to rely on each other, and that work be distributed as evenly as possible. Staff unreliability effects the morale of the staff, but also the experience of the young adult participants in our community.
  • HAVE FUN!!!  We all go to SUUSI to have a good time, and being on staff should be a labor of love and a lot of FUN!!!!
  • If you have any questions about the expectations or being on staff, e-mail Davin Taddeo, the director at ya@suusi.org.
