Making a difference in the community where SUUSI calls home — A total of $3200 was collected at Monday Evening’s Dedicated Worship and through registration donations prior to SUUSI for The Community Table and the Sylva and Cullowhee Community Gardens. This week, 42 members of the SUUSI community devoted their time by serving dinner to and singing to Community Table guests and by weeding, mulching , planting and clearing an overgrown plot of land that is now adoptable.
Additionally, 22 boxes of books, magazines, canned goods and toiletries were donated to The Community Table’s Soup Kitchen/Food Pantry and re-established ‘Book Swap.’
This was our second year at The Table and our first working at the Gardens. A big shout out to everyone who participated by contributing money or donations or by volunteering–especially the four Teens and their adult leader who took on Cullowhee Garden activities with enthusiasm and awe. Thanks to all for making the 2017 service project a success!
