In 2024, SUUSI returned to Radford University for the first time since 2014. Founded in 1910, Radford is located in the city of Radford, 36 miles southwest of Roanoke, Va., on Route 11 and I-81 in the New River Valley, close to the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. Radford University is a mid-sized public university.
The New River Valley offers SUUSI many wonderful nature trip opportunities and downtown Radford provides retail and locally owned shopping.
Travel to SUUSI
Driving is the most convenient way to travel to Radford. SUUSI participants will be able to park for free during SUUSI week.
Local airports include
- Roanoke Airport: about 45 minutes from campus
- Charlotte-Douglas International Airport: two and a half hours away in Charlotte, N.C
- Richmond International Airport: three and a half hours away in Richmond, Va.
